Archiving & Digital Preservation Policy

Perspectives in Education, Development & Social Sciences (PEDS) is fully committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. The journal ensures that scholarly works remain available, citable, and securely archived for future generations of researchers, educators, and practitioners.

Preservation Mechanisms

To achieve this objective, the journal adopts the following strategies:

  1. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN):

    • PEDS participates in the PKP Preservation Network, which provides decentralized and distributed preservation through the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system.

    • This ensures that all articles remain safely stored, even in the event of technical failure or website downtime.

  2. Institutional and Subject Repositories:

    • Authors are encouraged to deposit published articles in recognized institutional repositories (e.g., university libraries) and subject-specific repositories to maximize visibility and long-term archiving.

  3. Permanent DOI Assignment:

    • Every published article is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which guarantees persistent access and reliable citation.

    • DOIs remain valid regardless of changes in the journal’s website or hosting.

  4. Multiple Storage Systems:

    • Content is securely stored on the journal’s primary server, with regular backups on secondary servers to prevent data loss.

    • Archived content is maintained in multiple formats (PDF, XML) to ensure future readability and compatibility.
